William Molchan

William Molchan of Mattituck died Dec. 17 at the age of 87.

He was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Brooklyn to Florence and Michael Molchan. He attended Pratt Institute and married Vera Seredinsky in New York City on June 18, 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years.

Mr. Molchan lived in Mattituck for 34 years and was the owner/operator of Molchan Tool & Manufacturing Corporation. He was a member of the VFW, the Moose Club, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and the Pulaski Association.

Family members said he enjoyed woodcarving, building, oil painting, gardening and egg decorating.

Predeceased by his wife, Mr. Molchan is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Johnnidis; his son, Robert; and five grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his siblings, John and Amy.

Visiting hours are set for Dec. 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A service will take place Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, both in Cutchogue.
