North Fork fire district votes set for tonight

Fire commissioner elections are taking place in five local communities tonight, but only one race is contested.

In Mattituck, Greg Dickerson and John Heege are running to replace commissioner Norm Reilly, who is stepping down from the board.

Incumbents are running unopposed in the Cutchogue, Southold, East Marion and Orient fire districts. All are for five-year terms.

They are Joseph Zuhoski Jr. in Cutchogue, Tom Grattan Sr. in Southold, William Bertodatti in East Marion and Scott Harris in Orient.

In most districts voting takes place Tuesday night from 6 to 9 p.m. at the firehouses. The polls are open in Mattituck from 3 to 9 p.m.
