The 7-Eleven in Mattituck will officially open its doors at 2 p.m. today, according to its owner.

Nine employees have been training in a Southold 7-Eleven the past couple months as the store awaited final approval from Southold Town. The opening of the store was delayed due to concerns over traffic safety work that had not yet been completed by the state DOT.

“We’re glad to be open and our employees are glad to be starting,” store owner Tony Cocheo told The Suffolk Times last week.  “We’re very excited for the potential of the store in Mattituck.”

Mr. Cocheo said he’s gotten a lot of positive feedback about the business’s prospects from customers and friends.

The owner says he expects to the open doors at 2 p.m., after a standard audit of inventory is completed today.
