Video: One minute inside a Southold snow village

GIANNA VOLPE PHOTO | A snow village, complete with a train, in the Southold home of the Murphy family.

Peggy and Jim Murphy started their snow village in 1982 when she saw a Department 56 village display in the window of a New York City Fortunoff’s.

Decades later, she and her husband have amassed a three-tiered snow village display, sporting over 50 buildings, 100 accessory pieces, and nearly 30 Santas in their Southold home.

It even has a train running through it.

Check it out in this short video and be sure to read more about it in Thursday’s issue of The Suffolk Times.
