Cops: Man was driving high on drugs in Greenport

A 21-year-old Coram man was arrested in Greenport Saturday morning after police said he drove while ability impaired by drugs.

David Skaritka was found stopped in the westbound lane of Route 48 near Albertsons Lane with his engine running and his car in reverse about 7:30 a.m., police said.

He was confused and incoherent, and police said he resisted arrest.

Mr. Skaritka has been transferred to Southold Police headquarters for processing.
