Boys Basketball: Tuckers fall to 1-9 in loss to Port Jefferson

Forward Tom Sledjeski scored 8 of his team-high 17 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to rally Mattituck in a 49-37 boys basketball loss to Port Jefferson in a Suffolk County League VII game on Tuesday night.

Twin brothers Anthony Lanieri (17 points) and Philip Lanieri III (13 points) led the Royals (4-3, 3-3), who took a 22-15 halftime lead. Senior forward Juwan Veneable scored all of his 10 points in the second half.

The Tuckers (1-9, 0-6) will host Center Moriches at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
