Janet Ryan

Janet Ryan of Southold died Jan. 27 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She was 60.

She was born Oct. 29, 1951, in Greenport to Joseph and Janet (Gomez) Ryan. She worked for many years as a health care aide at San Simeon by the Sound Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Greenport.

Family members said she will be remembered for her love of cats.

She is survived by her mother; her sister, Carol Crowley of Yaphank; and her brother Robert of Ringgold, Va. She was predeceased by her brother Kevin of New Suffolk.

Cremation was private. Arrangements were handled by DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold.
