Cops: Man arrested after his car stunk like pot in Mattituck

A Ronkonkoma man who refused to cooperate with police who suspected he had marijuana in his car is facing numerous charges, after he was pulled over for driving with no front license plate and an expired inspection sticker on Route 25 in Mattituck just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Michael L. Massaro, 29, refused to exit his vehicle and attempted to roll up his window, catching an officer’s arm in the window as he attempted to take the keys out of the ignition.

Police said it took several officers, some coming from off-duty to assist, in order to subdue Mr. Massaro.

Mr. Massaro was charged with assault in the second degree, DWI-drugs, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.
