Cops: Greenport man breaks into home, charged with burglary
A Greenport man faces a burglary charge following his arrest early Thursday morning for reportedly entering an apartment and taking money from the resident’s wallet.
The resident told police he awoke at 2:50 a.m. Thursday to find a man in his Greenport apartment and then made a 911 call. When police arrived they found Henri Alvarez, 24, sitting in the victim’s kitchen, according to reports.
He was charged with burglary and taken to police headquarters, where he was held for a morning arraignment.
