Cops: Southold woman was drunk when she crashed into pole

A Southold woman who crashed into a utility pole while attempting to make a left onto Route 48 from Boisseau Avenue Monday afternoon was driving drunk, Southold Town Police said.

Linda Evangelista, 57, was traveling northbound shortly after 1:30 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, police said.

Ms. Evangelista, who struck a utility pole located on the north side of Route 48, was found to be in an intoxicated condition and was arrested, police said.

She was charged with misdemeanor DWI.
