Playing in its first state semifinal, the Riverhead girls basketball team saw its season end Friday in a 67-49 loss to Penfield.

Melodee Riley — 18 points, 7 rebounds

Jalyn Brown — 11 points, 4 rebounds

Kaila-Riane Nazario — 13 points, 4 rebounds

Riverhead shot 33 percent from the floor.


The Patriots were led by Margot Hetzke, who scored 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Lucy Covley added 12 points.
