Agenda: Greenport to discuss removal of parking limit signs

The Greenport Village Board will hold its monthly work session in the Third Street Firehouse at 6 p.m. tonight.

The Village Board is expected to discuss the recent removal of parking limit signs downtown. Last month, the board rejected a parking meter proposal after business owners petitioned against the move because they believe it would deter shoppers from visiting their stores.

With the summer season approaching, Mayor David Nyce has said the village could simply lift the parking time limit because it can’t afford to pay for an enforcement officer.

Department heads will also present their monthly reports to the Village Board, which are included in the agenda below.

Included in Village Administrator David Abatelli’s report is an update on paving the entrance at the Moore’s Lane Ball Fields.
