Robert Edward Norris

Robert Edward Norris (Bob), 58, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 31, 2012, in Fairfax, Va.

Bob was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, and lived in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and New York before moving to northern Virginia in 1970. He graduated from Oakton High School in 1971, served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975, stationed at Fort Benning, Ga., and had worked at the U.S. Postal Service in Merrifield since 1976.

He enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with his fiancée, Flor De La Rivera.

He is survived by his children, Eric Norris (Katheryn) of Belspring, Va., Ed Norris of Malabar, Fla., and Rob Norris and Melanie Norris, both of Fairfax, Va.; his former wife, Marjorie Johnson Norris; and his granddaughters, Stephanie, Quinlan and Willow. He is also survived by his mother, Audrey Norris, of Silver Spring, Md.; two sisters, Jeri Rhodes of Kensington and Sandy Roddy of Edgewater; and one brother, William Norris of Miami, Fla. He was predeceased by his father, William Norris of Southold, N.Y.
