NY Magazine touts Southold, Greenport as Hamptons alternatives
City folks looking for a good alternative to renting in the Hamptons this summer should try nearby Greenport or Southold, according to a real estate feature published earlier this month on nymag.com.
The North Fork hamlets were among six sites selected as alternatives to busy New York summer spots like East Hampton, Rhinebeck and Long Beach Island. The other four locations chosen in the piece were Lavallette, Ocean Grove, Stanford and Margaretville.
“Southold is a place for people who’d rather avoid the scene of Hamptons-land,” the post reads. “It’s full of relaxed charm.”
Of Greenport, the author writes: “It’s not a circus like the Hamptons on a busy Saturday afternoon.”
