Blotter: Three burglaries, thefts reported in Southold Town this week

• The perpetrator of a burglary faces charges of burglary, criminal mischief and larceny for the unsuccessful theft of a power washer and hedge trimmer from an East Marion garage, police said. Sometime between May 6 and May 12, police said someone broke the garage door lock and attempted to cut a wire chain securing the tools, but was unsuccessful. The victim requested extra patrols and detectives have been notified.

• A Greenport man reported that someone stole two five-foot Echo weed whackers from the bed of his truck on May 16, between 8 and 9 p.m., according to police. Police said the items are valued at $600.

• The perpetrator of a Southold burglary reportedly stole a Walther firearm from a residence and rummaged through several drawers sometime between May 13 and May 17, according to police. Detectives were notified and the investigation is ongoing.
