Diane Otto Vigilante

Diane Otto Vigilante (née Loesch) died on Thursday, May 24, in Hammonton, N.J., at the age of 65. Diane was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many when she was called to Heaven.

Diane was predeceased by her son Ralph Otto; mother, Dolores Loesch; brother Jack; and husbands, Ralph Otto and John Vigilante. Diane is remembered by her son Kevin Otto and three granddaughters Amanda, Dakota and Katie. She is also survived by her father, Lawrence Loesch; sisters, Patricia Vierling (her twin), Christine Innes, Joyce Bright and Dolores Loesch; and her brothers Larry and Jim.

Diane was a generous, giving, loving and ever-caring person who even when she had nothing left to give always managed to find a way to thank or reward even those who were much more fortunate than she. She was at her strongest when all around her was in turmoil or at its worst.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Mattituck by Monsignor Joseph W. Staudt. Entombment will be at Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury.
