Southold Town Police, arriving in several vehicles, handed employees of Vineyard 48 in Cutchogue a summons for holding an outdoor event without the required town permit on Saturday, May 5 at about 2:30 p.m.

The vineyard has been offering live music for dancing under a tent every Saturday and town officials have warned the weekly event violates the town code.

After police left, the music and dancing continued, with several cars and limos parked out front. Employees declined to comment and referred all questions to the vineyard’s attorney, Patricia Moore.
