Walter Bialeski

Walter Bialeski of Cutchogue, known as Gator, died June 18 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead after a two-week illness. He was 57.

Born July 30, 1954, in Greenport to Irene (Naugles) and Felix Bialeski Sr., he was a graduate of Mattituck High School.

He owned Bialeski Landscaping in Mattituck. He was a member of the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce and had been a member of the Mattituck Fire Department.

Predeceased by his father on May 26, 1994, and his sister, Judith, on April 28, 1956, Mr. Bialeski is survived by his mother and his brother, Felix Jr., both of Mattituck.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck, Monsignor Joseph Staudt officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue.
