Gallery: Instantly into the dog days of summer on the North Fork

An air quality alert has been issued for the East End, but that hasn’t stopped North Fork residents from going about their day out on the town.

The high for today is 88 degrees and temperatures are expected to reach the 90s here tomorrow. Things will cool off a bit this weekend though, with a high of 80 degrees forecast for Saturday.

We asked Suffolk Times staffer Gianna Volpe to shoot portraits capturing the town on this humid day. Here’s what she came back with:
