Eileen Haskins

Longtime Southold Town resident Eileen Haskins died June 23 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 91 and had resided at Cedar Lodge Nursing Home in Center Moriches for one year.

She was born Aug. 12, 1920, to Briget and Michael Deacy in New York City, where she worked as a secretary in the field of economics statistics.

Ms. Haskins lived in Southold for many years and then in Mattituck. She was a member of the Rosary Society and the choir at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold and volunteered at Parish Outreach.

Predeceased by her husband, James, in 1969, she is survived by her daughter, Theresa Wilsberg of Mattituck, and her son, John, of Medford; her sister, Kate Murphy of the Bronx; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visiting hours will take place June 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A service will be held June 27 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, also in Cutchogue. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, N.Y.
