Local students earned high marks at college this semester

• Sarah Conlin of Cutchogue, a student at Worcester (Mass.) Polytechnic Institute, has been named to the spring dean’s list there. She also won the Class of 1879 Prize from the college’s department of humanities and arts for a work of fiction entitled “Infamy: The Before After.” The prize recognizes student works that demonstrate creativity and skill in conceiving, developing and expressing a theme.

• Chelsea Rothman of Southold has graduated from Providence (R.I.) College with a master’s degree in business administration.

• Devin Sullivan of Mattituck has graduated cum laude and with honors distinction from the University of Tampa, earning a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a concentration in allied health. A 2008 Mattituck High School graduate, she is the daughter of Eileen McGetrick and Douglas Sullivan.

• The following local students have been named to the spring semester dean’s list at SUNY/Geneseo: Kelly Brush and Rosemary Martilotta of Cutchogue; Peter Olsen-Harbich and Megan Ross of Mattituck; and Melanie Doroski and Rachel Taplin of Southold.

• Brittany Letteriello of Mattituck has graduated magna cum laude from Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., with a bachelor’s degree in English education and membership in the English, education and foreign language honor societies.

• Leah Bufkins of Southold has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Assumption College in Worcester, Mass.

• Kate Dacimo of Orient has graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in management from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. She was commissioned as an ensign and assigned to the USCGC Sycamore in Cordova, Alaska.

• Dan Sawicki of Mattituck has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology, where he has completed his third year of studies in mechanical engineering.

• Gabrielle Mastaglio of Cutchogue and Christopher de Reeder of Mattituck have been named to the spring semester president’s list at SUNY/Oswego. Gabrielle is a senior majoring in business administration. Christopher is a senior majoring in philosophy.
