Reader photo of the day: Something you’ll never see again

WILL BURKHARD PHOTO | The Venus transit is a once-in-a-lifetime event that won't happen again until 2117.

Did you miss the Venus transit Tuesday?

Reader Will Burkard was at Reeves Beach when he caught the once-in-a-lifetime celestial event with his telescope.

The Venus transit occurs when Venus, the second planet from the Sun and the Earth’s neighbor, crosses the Sun’s face. The rare event will not happen again until 2117.
