Greenport fashion boutique, Taste, hosting anniversary party

Women with taste have been shopping in Greenport for more than a century, but women who shop at Greenport Village’s fashion boutique “Taste” will have done so for exactly 10 years today.

“It feels great to be in such a wonderful village,” said co-owner Charles Marks. “Everyone in Greenport has been so supportive of us.”

To thank the village and loyal customers for keeping them open for a decade, Mr. Marks and partner Lee Rominger will be throwing a special anniversary celebration with hors d’ouerves on Saturday evening at the shop. Invitation-only guests are welcome between 5 and 7:30 p.m. All else are welcome to join in the fun after 7:30 p.m. About 200 guests are expected at the event; more than 1,000 invitations were sent out.

“We love it and we’re ready for 10 more years,” Mr. Marks said.

While many customers from across Long Island have travelled to Taste, the majority are those from Riverhead and the North Fork who are looking for something special to go with their outfit, whether that be a handbag, earrings or other accessories, Mr. Marks said.

“Our specialty is providing unique and distinct finishing touches,” he said. “Whether its an evening bag or earrings, we’re always getting comments on our unusual items.”
