Cops: Greenport man was driving with a suspended license

A Greenport man who was spotted operating an electronic device while his vehicle was in motion, was found to be driving with a suspended license Sunday night, Southold Town Police said.

Ralph Mims III was spotted by an officer on foot patrol using the device on Front Street, shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday. After he drove away, police said Mr. Mims was then pulled over by another officer.

He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed for using an electronic device while driving a vehicle, police said.
