Cops: Man was speeding drunk down Route 48 in Peconic

A Florida man was driving drunk when he was stopped for speeding along Route 48 in Peconic Saturday morning, Southold Town Police said.

Cory Fallon, 23, of Plantation, Fla. was observed by police as he was operating a 1998 Toyota sedan at a high rate of speed while traveling east on Route 48 in Peconic shortly after 11 a.m., police said.

The vehicle was stopped for speeding, and upon interview of Mr. Fallon it was found that he was under the influence of alcohol, police said. He was subsequently arrested and transported to Southold Town Police Headquarters, where he was processed and released on bail for a later court date, police said.

He was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, police said.
