Day 2 of Antique Power festivities at Hallockville

Did you miss the Long Island Antique Power Association’s tractor pull Saturday at Hallockville Museum Farm on Sound Avenue?

You’re getting a second chance.

More tractor action is planned from Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., along with food, an antique car show and rides for kids.

Garden and lawn tractors pulled first on Saturday, but got stymied when they hit 3,350 pounds. Children competed on peddle cars. The main event was the “Parade of Power,” when the big boys entered the track and competed for bragging rights.

Long island Antique Power Association was founded by Bruce Young in 1992 — now charter president — when after making a few phone calls he hosted a first event at the Riverhead Country Fair.

The group now boasts around 250 members and its theme is “Preserving the Past for the Future.”

In that future they hope to have a full-time working museum.
