Proving that North Forkers are a hardy bunch, the Greenport-Southold Rotary Club’s Lobsterfest at Founders Landing in Southold on Saturday was well-attended despite a steady downpour of rain.
Because of the weather, the take-out crew worked at lightning speed to fill hundreds of to-go orders, but some people braved the rain and sat outside under umbrellas eating lobster and steak, undeterred by the weather.
“It’s just a little mist,” said Al Fickeissen as he served from several bubbling vats of corn on the cob. “Nothing to worry much about.”
