Veronica Margaret Loeb
Longtime Greenport resident Veronica Margaret Loeb died June 27 at her home. She was 90 years old.
She was born April 26, 1922, to Catherine (Marren) and John Willis in Brooklyn, where she married Louis Loeb on Nov. 25, 1945.
Ms. Loeb worked as a volunteer with the Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary for 20 years. Family members said she enjoyed reading and playing bridge.
Predeceased by her husband in 2006, Ms. Loeb is survived by her daughters, Veronica Cabral of New York, Barbara McMahon of Georgia, Phyllis Gelinas of New Hampshire and Christina Bainbridge of Arizona; her sons, Kenneth and Paul, both of New York, and Richard, of North Carolina; her brother, Robert Willis of Missouri; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her sister, Florence Hopkins, and her brother John Willis.
Arrangements were handled by Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.
A service will be held Monday, Aug. 13, at St. Agnes R.C. Church in Greenport.
