Matittuck Plaza’s newest eatery, Big City Burgers Atomic Wings, looks like it’s also the hamlet’s latest casualty. But owner George Malamas says his business is not closed for good, but rather to take a two-week break while management figures out a new strategy.

“We’re re-configuring the team and rethinking some of the menu,” Mr. Malamas said Tuesday afternoon. “It’s been quiet, not as busy as expected, so we’re brainstorming and looking for someone who can do some in-depth advertising for us; get some write-ups and reviews.”

Mr. Malamas said the restaurant will reopen a week from Friday, despite the fact that the business is listed for sale online for $135,000.

The restaurant originally opened just six months ago this week in a shopping center that has seen Do-Little’s and North Fork Bagels close in recent months, while Subway has changed hands. Big City opened in the storefront previously occupied by Bahia, a Mexican eatery.
