Cops: Southold man’s bounced check leads to arrest
A Southold man was arrested Saturday night for petit larceny and issuing a bad check, Southold Town Police said.
Thomas E. Sypher Jr., 45, of Southold, allegedly wrote a personal check to a North Fork restaurant to purchase a $46 take-out meal and receive a $75 cash advance, a check which subsequently bounced due to insufficient funds.
Police declined to name the restaurant. Mr. Sypher was arrested for the misdemeanor at his Southold residence, transported to police headquarters, processed and held for arraignment.
