OnStar device leads police to stolen car in Cutchogue

A Cutchogue woman was arrested Saturday evening after police found her in possession of a stolen car and other stolen property, Southold Town police said.

Carrie McCabe, 38, was arrested after an OnStar device helped locate the car, which was parked in front of her house, police said. It was also determined that she burglarized the owner of the car’s residence, according to police.

Ms. McCabe, who is a known associate of the victim, was charged with first degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and second degree burglary, police said. She was held overnight for a Sunday morning arraignment.

Ms. McCabe was previously arrested for DWI in May, according to an earlier police press release.
