Jennifer E. LaFreniere

Jennifer E. LaFreniere, at the age of 48, passed away on Sept. 1, 2012, surrounded by the love of her husband and children, at their home in Southold, N.Y.

She was born Jan. 26, 1964, to Robert and Ethel (Habermann) Schroeder at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, N.Y. Jennifer was happily married to her best friend and devoted husband, David, of 25 years. A proud and caring mother of Michael and Leah, she was predeceased by their daughter Emily Rose in 1992. She is also survived by the LaFreniere and Schroeder families.

Jennifer was famous for her chocolate chip cookies, warm heart and genuine spirit of life. She was always reaching out to help someone who needed a word of kindness, a gentle hug, a laugh, a smile or the cookies. She will always be remembered by her wide circle of friends, neighbors and many nieces and nephews. Her laughter, smile and caring will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

The Rev. Peter Kelley performed a beautiful celebration of life and interment was held on Thursday, Sept. 6, at First Presbyterian Church of Southold.

The family has requested that memorials be sent in Jennifer’s name to the First Presbyterian Church of Southold, P.O. Box 787, Southold, NY 11971, for the Emily Rose Fund.
