Gregory J. Poliwoda

Gregory J. Poliwoda of Southold died Sept. 16, 2012. He was 63 years old.

He was born July 6, 1949, in Greenport to John and Natalie (Pekunka) Poliwoda. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and Maryland Institute of Art, he had been a chef, architect and interior designer. Formerly of Baltimore, Md., and New York City, he had been a lifelong North Fork resident.

Predeceased by his father, John Poliwoda, he is survived by his mother, Natalie, of Southold; his sister, Carolyn Joyce Faszczewski of Mattituck; his nephews, Kevin Ehlinger and John Ehlinger, and his niece, Michelle Ehlinger.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, with Minister Danny Reiter officiating. There will be no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes.
