Woman drives car into tree on Marlene Lane in Mattituck

A one-car accident in Mattituck sent one woman to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon, officials on the scene said.

Police, fire and rescue responded to the scene on Marlene Lane where a woman, whose name has not yet been released, drove her blue Toyota Camry into a tree at 4:50 p.m.

Officials said the driver stated she didn’t really know what happened and that “one minute she was driving and the next she was in a tree.”

The Cutchogue Fire Department rescue squad brought the woman to Peconic Bay Medical Center.
