Cheesy Charlie’s owner sells Southold pizza place after 26 years
Cheesy Charlie’s Pizzeria on Route 48 will change hands within the week, according to owner Sophia Cartselos of Southold.
Ms. Cartselos announced her retirement to the Suffolk Times Friday and said she will miss her customers, although she is looking forward to taking a break, whether short or long, before moving on to something else in the future.
“I’ve always said I’ve had the best customers and I’m going to miss them very much,” Ms. Cartselos said. “I’m at a loss for words, but I’ve been doing this for a long time. It does take its toll and life goes by very quickly.”
Joseph Pagano of Pagano’s in Greenport purchased Cheesy Charlie’s and will most likely take over this weekend, she said.
“I wish the Pagano family the best of luck and I’d like to thank each and every one of my customers for giving me the chance to cook for them and make their pizza over the last 26 years,” Ms. Cartselos said.
