Cops: Greenport man was driving drunk in the shoulder

A Greenport man was arrested for driving drunk Saturday night after he was observed crossing over the white line and driving in the shoulder along Route 25 near Chapel Lane in Greenport, Southold Town police said.

Jose Roberto Diaz Flores, 33, was charged with aggravated DWI after police, who say they observed a strong odor of an alcohol inside the vehicle, said he failed a several roadside sobriety tests after being pulled over shortly before 10 p.m.

Mr. Diaz Flores was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed, and held overnight for a Sunday morning arraignment at Southold Town Justice Court, police said.
