Southold Free Library wants to hear from you this week
As part of its ongoing campaign to assess what the community needs from its library, Southold Free Library will host two open discussions this week.
Over the summer, the Friends of the Southold Library conducted a survey on how Southold and Peconic residents use the facility and what kinds of programs and services they’d like to see it offer. The library has been looking for input on the community’s library needs since a proposed expansion was defeated at the polls nearly two years ago.
The survey was mailed to 4,700 households in the hope that feedback would be received from both regular patrons and residents who don’t necessarily use the library.
The survey results will take center stage in this week’s discussions, which will be facilitated by professional mediator Mary Eisenstein. The first meeting is set for Thursday at 7 p.m. and the second will be held Friday at 10 a.m.
The library is asking prospective attendees to call ahead at 765-2077 to indicate which meeting they will attend.
