William F. Weissert

William F. Weissert died Sept. 25 at his home in Peconic. He was 73.

He was born Dec. 12, 1938, in the Bronx to Gustave and Georgianna (Fessler) Weissert and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. Mr. Weissert had been the owner of Angle Offset Corp., a commercial printing company in Bayside, Queens.

In 2000, he moved from Floral Park to the North Fork and became a member of the Cutchogue Lions Club and the American Legion Post in Southold.

In his free time, he enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, golfing, fishing, bowling and doing crossword puzzles, according to family members, who said he will be remembered as a history buff.

Mr. Weissert is survived by his wife, Angela; his daughters, Barbara Zanetis of Commack and Gina Brancato and Jennifer Garduno, both of Massapequa; and seven grandchildren.

A private family viewing took place Sept. 27 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold, with a prayer service led by Father Peter Garry. Interment with U.S. Army honors followed at Calverton National Cemetery, with graveside services conducted by Deacon Robert Dejewski.
