Suffolk Times staffer Gianna Volpe took to the sky at noon Friday in an airplane — but with a camera in hand — and took these aerial photos of gas lines in Riverhead and Cutchogue.

Two photos are of the Valero gas station on Main Road in Cutchogue, where a line stretched about a half-mile short of Sound Avenue.

The other two shots are of a Hess station on Route 58 in Riverhead, near Tanger Outlets, where a line stretched past the Long Island Expressway.
