After winning four games in six days, the Mattituck boys soccer team finds itself in Middletown, N.Y. this afternoon two wins away from a state championship. The road to the Class B title begins today with a semifinal matchup against Livonia, a Section V school south of Rochester.
Livonia comes into the game unbeaten in 20 matches. The Bulldogs won 3-2 in their regional final against East Aurora to advance to the semifinals.
The Tuckers won a wild 5-4 game against Spackenkill Tuesday.
Mattituck’s last state title came in 2003.
In other semifinal, Ichabod Crane will play Susquehanna Valley at 4:15 p.m. The Class B state finals is 3 p.m. Sunday.
