Bus service to offer trips to Manhattan

A national bus service will launch a new route on Long Island next month, offering non-stop service from Riverhead to Manhattan starting at $1 promotional rate, according to a company statement.

Boltbus — which currently provides bus trips between New York City, Boston, Baltimore, Philidelphia and more, and recently opened a West Coast service — will open the newest line between the Hilton Garden Inn in Riverhead and Manhattan starting on Dec. 10, according to the company.

The line will also have stations in Melville and Ronkonkoma.

Buses will go straight to NYC non-stop.

During the first week of operations, tickets will start at $1 each, plus a booking fee, Boltbus officials said.

The buses include amenities like free WiFi and power outlets for passengers.

“With the support of local government leaders, we’re excited to provide the Long Island community a convenient, hassle-free travel option that is unmatched in value, luxury and safety while further expanding our service in New York,” said Boltbus general manager David Hall in a statement.

Boltbus will join Hamptons Jitney, a local passenger bus service that recently had a Calverton bus terminal approved, in offering trips to New York City to East End residents.

Tickets are available online at boltbus.com.
