Margaret A. Kerbs

Margaret A. Kerbs of Southold, known as Peggy, died at her home Nov. 1, 2012. She was 90 years old.

She was born March 16, 1922, in Central Islip to Margaret and Richard Clarke.

A resident of the North Fork for the past 60 years, she had been a medical secretary for Dr. Jones in Mattituck and, more recently, for Eastern Long Island Hospital.

Peggy was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Southold.

Predeceased by her husband, John M. Kerbs, in 2011, she leaves her son, Jon Kerbs of Mattituck; a granddaughter, Casey R. Kerbs, also of Mattituck; and a sister, Virginia Klinke of Florida. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Seale, Grace Tracey and Marcella O’Connell, and one brother, Richard Clarke.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Southold. Interment will follow at St. Patrick R.C. Cemetery.
