Jeanette R. Jerome

Jeanette R. Jerome of Southold died at home Dec. 26, 2012. She was 78 years old.

She was born Nov. 14, 1934, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Walter and Stella Wozniak.

She worked for General Electric for several years and married the love of her life, Thomas C. Jerome, to whom she was married for 56 ½ years. Then she took on her “biggest” job, raising seven children. She became Mom, nurse, confidante, playmate, friend, caretaker, chef, taxi driver. She did whatever was needed to be done to make everyone happy.

She leaves behind her husband, Thomas C. Jerome; her children, Thomas W. Jerome of Middle Village, N.Y., Anne Marie Moretti (Tony) of East Northport, N.Y., Jeffrey Jerome (Caroline) of Northport, N.Y., John Jerome (Janet) of Mattituck, N.Y., and Daniel Jerome, Laure Kettenbeil (Fred) and Greg Jerome, all of Southold, N.Y. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Joshua Kettenbeil; Christopher, Steven, Matthew and Jessica Jerome; and Elizabeth, Sarah and Heather Jerome; her sister Mary Jackowski; and a brother, Walter Wozniak. She was predeceased by her sister Anne Kempen.

The family received friends at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home. The funeral mass was held at St. Patrick R.C. Church. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.
