The Cutchogue Fire Department hosted its first Stuff the Sleigh 5K Sunday morning. The event was a huge success with 331 people running or walking the course.

Participants arrived with their arms loaded with toys to be donated to Community Action of Southold Town. A sleigh set up in the firehouse was completely obscured by the hundreds of donated gifts.

Fifteen-year-old Nicholas Berglin of Hampton Bays came in first place for the men and Mattituck’s Kaylee Bergen, 15, won the women’s race.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Cutchogue Fire Department Scholarship Fund, the Firefighters Cancer Support Network and the American Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
