Jennie Aprea Brigandi

Jennie Aprea Brigandi of Baden, Pa., formerly of Greenport and Brooklyn, died Jan. 6, 2013, at Katera’s Kove Nursing Center in Wampum, Pa. She was 89.

Born Dec. 28, 1923, in Brooklyn to Joseph and Margaret (Russo) Aprea, she was a clerk at J.P. Morgan Company in Manhattan until her retirement.

She enjoyed playing bingo, family members said.

She is survived by her daughters, Theresa, of Baden, and Margaret McDonald of Greenport; her sister, Lucy Peters of New York; and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Emil Brigandi, in 2008 and her brothers, Michael and Frank Aprea. 

Visiting hours will take place Thursday, Jan. 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
