Mr. Blasl worked for the Riverhead Sewer District for a number of years before setting off on his own business as a tile contractor, partnering with his brother, Peter. He and his family moved to Cornelius, N.C., in 2006.

Following the death of his wife on Dec. 22, 2009, he moved back to Long Island and settled in Mattituck.

Predeceased by his parents in 2003 and his wife in 2009, Mr. Blasl is survived by his son, Brian, of East Marion; his daughters, Amy, of Southold, and Sarabeth, of Hampton Bays; his brother, Peter, of Riverhead; and his sisters, Deborah Goroleski of Calverton and Cyndi Woodman of Akron, Ohio.

The family will receive visitors at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead Thursday, Jan. 31, from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead on Friday, Feb. 1, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
