Former East Marion resident Lewis E. Raymond III of Cordova, Tenn., died May 15, 2012. He was 62 years old.
Born Jan. 30, 1950, to Grace and Lewis Raymond II, he grew up in East Marion and graduated from Greenport High School. He moved to the Cayman Islands and worked as a dive master, eventually becoming a boat captain and dive master for Blackbeard’s Cruises in the Bahamas and, later, a consultant, captain and dive master with Easy Divers in Memphis, Tenn.
Family members said he loved diving and working as a dive master.
Mr. Raymond is survived by his wife, Saralynn Turner; his daughters, Jennifer Raymond and Veronica Witt; his sister, June Raymond Vallace; and three grandchildren.
