A Southold woman contacted police last Tuesday after receiving a text message from an unknown person, which read, “I hid the body, now what?,” according to a police report.
After asking the person who they were, the woman received another text that read, “No names, use code words, this is Apple Sauce,” according to the report.
The resident then wrote back, “who is this?” a second time and received two more messages: “I stirred the pudding now what do you want me to do” and “I hid the body just like you told me.”
Nobody picked up when police called the phone number, which was connected to a voicemail box that had not been set up.
They tried several times, according to the report.
