Frank W. Iannelli

Frank W. Iannelli of Jamesport died at his home April 7. He was 71 years old.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Jan. 2, 1942, to Frank and Leona (Willinski) Iannelli and was raised by his mother, Leona, and his stepfather, Martin Kelly.

Frank served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and later enjoyed a long career with the Metropolitan Transit Authority.

Formerly of Rocky Point, he moved to Jamesport eight years ago and was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Mattituck.

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, kayaking, bike riding and gardening. He was also a racing cyclist and raced cars in Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut.

He is survived by his wife, Celia; his children, Angela Ardizzone (John) and Frank Jr., both of Babylon, and James, of Pennsylvania; stepchildren Gregory Marszal (Julie) of California and Jeffrey Marszal (Olga) of Oregon; six grandchildren, Arianna, Tyler, John Jr., Jesse, Samantha and Joseph; a sister, Shirley Ingoglia (Anthony); a niece, Jillian Ingoglia; and a nephew, Adam Ingoglia.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer on Old Sound Avenue in Mattituck.

In lieu of flowers, donations to East End Hospice or the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, in support of their food pantry, would be appreciated.
