Peconic Public Broadcasting hosted its first art show at Mitchell Park Sunday in an effort to both promote the station and celebrate some of Long Island’s best artists.

We put together a very interesting and diverse group of artists here today,” said local artist and event curator Hector deCordova.

“We’re an extremely locally driven station; we broadcast the area’s news to both the North and South Forks as well as coastal Connecticut,” said WPPB host Bonnie Grice, who broadcast live from the art show. “We’re also very supportive of local artists. Greenport is very well known for its art, so we are very glad to get a chance to showcase all the town has to offer today.”
